Our People

Mihai, one of the co-founders of Savorise, is living proof that what starts as a summer job can turn into a thriving career (and a pretty incredible one at that). Over a decade ago, he began as a barback, hauling ice and cleaning glasses. What was meant to be a short-term gig quickly became a passion, shaping him into a respected figure in the hospitality industry.

Throughout his career, Mihai has taken on a variety of roles, each teaching him invaluable lessons. He’s managed bars in both Romania and Ireland, and along the way, he’s racked up an impressive list of accolades: Top 3 World Class Ireland in 2017, Winner of World Class Romania in 2022, and Best Romanian Bartender 2022, to name a few. He’s also the Europe Winner of the Indie Bartender Competition and the co-founder of Cluj Cocktail Week, a groundbreaking event bringing together 25 bars and brands for a week of masterclasses, guest shifts, and celebrations.

Mihai’s expertise spans both restaurants and bars, giving him a versatile understanding of what makes each tick. While he’s an introvert at heart, Mihai has tackled the challenges of a people-driven industry with determination and curiosity. From menu development and cocktail innovation to market analysis and staff training, he’s a master at helping venues run as smoothly as a perfectly stirred Negroni.

At Savorise, Mihai’s mission is simple: help hospitality businesses find their secret ingredient for success. Whether it’s a fresh menu, creative ideas, or a little operational magic, he’s all in. And yes, he’ll probably make you a cocktail while he’s at it – just don’t ask him to choose a favourite. After all, every great drink (and venue) has its own special charm.

Meet Mihai

Maria, co-founder of Savorise, has practically lived and breathed hospitality her entire life. From studying tourism and hospitality in college to building a career spanning every corner of the industry. She started out clearing tables during a college internship at a renowned hotel in Bucharest and has since worked across Romania, England, Scotland, Jersey, and Wales.

Her career has taken her through a wide range of roles, including housekeeping, waitressing, bartending, and eventually sales, revenue, and marketing. Maria has worked in restaurants, cafés, bars, food festivals, and 4- and 5-star hotels. Hotels, with their mix of guest services, restaurants, and bars, hold a special place in her heart, but she finds joy in every part of the hospitality experience.

One of Maria’s proudest achievements is starting her own hospitality-focused marketing agency, where she combines her love for the industry with her skills in photography and creative marketing. Maria has helped hospitality businesses across South Wales stand out and succeed by crafting packages, creating content, or working with influencers and content creators.

At Savorise, Maria brings a wealth of hands-on experience from across Europe, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of what makes hospitality businesses tick. She’s passionate about helping businesses – big and small – not just survive but thrive in today’s challenging climate. And when it comes to coming up with creative ideas, that’s her favourite part of the job.
